The 6.49% advance to 41.7 pesos of the shares of the restaurant operator Alsea, which yesterday reported a net profit of 139 million pesos (6.97 million dollars) between April and June, compared to a loss of 2,595 million pesos registered in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the Cement giant Cemex’s securities advanced 0.84 percent to 16.90 pesos, after raising its goal of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) and sales volumes for this year, and reported a net profit in the second quarter.
S&P 500 and Dow rise in open
On Wall Street, S&P and Dow Jones indices rose at open after a series of strong corporate data and a report that showed a rebound in economic growth in the United States, which reinforced expectations of a recovery after the pandemic.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average it gained 55.1 points, or 0.16 percent, at 34,985.99 units.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 2.9 points, or 0.07 percent, to 4,403.59 units and the Nasdaq Composite it added 8.6 points, or 0.06 percent, to 14,771,168 units.
