The British authorities on Friday, December 9, will announce a new package of sanctions against Russia. On Wednesday, December 7, the agency reported Bloomberg.
According to agency sources, sanctions will be imposed on Russian individuals and legal entities.
In addition, the new sanctions are also designed to prevent the evasion of already introduced restrictions.
Earlier in the day, the European Commission (EC) officially unveiled the ninth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which included three banks, about 200 people, four TV channels, as well as a ban on investment in the mining sector.
As for the UK, it last expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list at the end of November. Then 22 new items were added.
Prior to this, the UK expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list on November 2. Four new names appeared on the list, and a ban was introduced on the import of gold from Russia.
Western sanctions followed in response to the conduct of a special operation by the Russian Federation to protect the Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The operation began against the background of the aggravated situation in the territories and increased shelling by the Ukrainian military.
