US President Joe Biden held an online meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the presence of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Senior Adviser for Russia and Central Asia Eric Green. This follows from a photo posted on December 7 by the White House on Twitter.
In the office where Biden was, everyone, with the exception of the American leader, had medical masks. There was also one woman at the table where the negotiators were.
The frame shows a broadcast from Russia, in which only Putin got into. The broadcast was displayed on three screens located on the walls of the office. The presidents’ communication took place over a secure video line and lasted two hours.
During the talks, Biden told Putin about the concerns of Washington and European allies about the alleged increase in the Russian military presence near the borders of Ukraine. The presidents also discussed strategic stability and joint work on Iran.
Bloomberg reported that after meeting with Putin, the leaders of the UK and several European countries will discuss with Biden the results of the summit talks. On the same day, it became known that Biden intends to hold talks with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky after a conversation with Putin.
