Donald Trump blames Harris and Biden for the crisis in the Middle East. He uses it for the election campaign – and promises peace again.
The former US President Donald Trump is using the tense situation in the Middle East to gain political capital for the upcoming US elections to beat. He accuses the current US president Joe Biden and his vice president Kamala Harris claimed to be partly responsible for the Iranian missile attack on Israel. Trump also predicts global chaos if Harris wins the election in November.
“The two incompetent people who are running our country – and I don’t believe they are running it at all – are taking us to the brink of a third world war, a war like no other,” Trump told an angry crowd in Waunakee, Wisconsin several US media outlets, including CNN and The Hillreport. He is using current events, largely outside of Harris’ control, to discredit the vice president. Trump blames Biden-Harris’ foreign policy for the escalation of war in the Middle East, claiming that “the so-called enemy no longer respects our country.”
Trump promises to resolve the conflict in the Middle East – and blames Kamala Harris
Trump promises that there would be fewer wars under his leadership, similar to what he has already promised in connection with the Ukraine war has done. “If I were in charge, today’s attack on Israel would never have happened. All the things we’re talking about would never have happened, including the botched withdrawal that made us look so bad.” Here he is referring to the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in 2021. “If I win, we will have peace in the world again. “I guarantee that we will have peace in the world again,” Trump added. “And if Kamala gets four more years – unthinkable, right? “If she gets four more years, the world will go up in smoke,” he tries to convince his followers.
Trump also repeats a misleading statement about a prisoner swap between the US and Iran in September 2023. That exchange involved swapping prisoners on the eve of this year’s United Nations General Assembly in Qatar. One of the terms of the exchange was that the US would release $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets created by oil sales to South Korea when sanctions on Tehran were lifted. “When they have someone kidnapped, it’s always six billion dollars, who’s ever heard of that?” said Trump. “Someone else gets about $4,000.”
Biden and Harris as Iran’s aides? – Trump makes serious allegations after rocket attack on Israel
Trump claims that this sum left Iran “flooded” with “American cash.” This would have allowed the country to eliminate its militant proxies, such as the U.S.-designated terrorists Hamas and the Hezbollah to finance. The Biden administration has defended the agreement in the past against attacks by the republican defended and argued that the USA did not provide Iran with six billion dollars for weapons. Government officials at the time noted that the assets were held in a monitored account and that these funds could only be used to purchase food and medicine.
Trump also claims Iran endorsed the vice president. Iran did not support Harris. However, according to the FBI, the Iranian military hacked the Trump campaign’s email accounts and sent that information to the Biden campaign. U.S. officials also collected evidence that Iran was plotting to assassinate the former president. Trump’s campaign therefore claimed that Iran had planned an attack on Trump, hacked the campaign and shared the information with his rival. However, there is no evidence for this either.
Trump also uses Putin for his election campaign – Is Harris also supported by Russia?
Trump also criticized Harris for the Russian president’s claim that he supported her. This had Vladimir Putin Said at the beginning of September at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. “I told you that our favorite, if you can call it that, was President Biden. He is now out of the race, but he asked his supporters to support Ms. Harris, so we will do the same,” the Russian president said at the time.
Putin’s comments came shortly after the US accused Moscow of a widespread, sophisticated election-influence campaign. Like the US portal, among others Newsweek reported that the US government had seized Kremlin-run websites and charged two Russian state media employees. According to the report, this was the most comprehensive attempt yet to crack down on Russia’s alleged attempts to spread disinformation ahead of the presidential election. Moscow remains the biggest threat to the US election, despite Iran’s hacking attack being investigated by the FBI, the Justice Department said in a statement on the incidents. (tpn)
