However, few know that Belova was the second Black Widow in the Marvel comics. Next, you will learn more about the character within the Marvel comics and the relevance it will have in phase 4 of the MCU.
Who is Yelena Belova?
The character’s first appearance occurred in the comic Inhumans # 5, published in June 1999. As mentioned above, she is a spy within Marvel Comics and the second person to use the name Black Widow.
Yelena had a tough training in the Red Room, located in the former Soviet Union, the same place where Natasha romanoff trained to become Black Widow.
Her first appearances showed her as Romanoff’s main enemy, but over time they became allies. After his redemption, Belova joined different secret groups such as SHIELD., Vanguard and Hydra.
Unlike Natasha Romanoff, Belova has superhuman powers, as she can replicate the abilities of the enemies she faces.
