IIn Kiel, the CDU and Greens seem to be so taken with their new coalition agreement that they sign it twice. Last week, the top representatives of the parties did it standing up and for the time being, and on Tuesday they were sitting down and finally: he thinks it’s a good day and the sunshine suits it, said Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU), and that’s how it looked also his Finance Minister Monika Heinold (Greens). She would not have thought that as a Green she would say that she would like to sign a black-green coalition agreement. But that’s how it is today.
So the ink is dry and nothing stands in the way of the black-green alliance after both partners agreed to the contract at party conferences on Monday evening: with clear majorities, but very different needs for speeches. This Wednesday, Günther will be re-elected Prime Minister in the state parliament, the CDU and Greens together have 48 of 69 mandates.
