One of the Most Violent DC Comics Superheroes It’s coming to the movies this week. “Black Adam”, the new movie starring Dwayne Johnson, is ready for everyone to enjoy. But the situation would have been different if the producers had not modified high violent content I originally had the tape.
Hiram García and Beau Flynn revealed to Collider that, initially, the production had an R rating for adults, something that in Latin America translates as “only suitable for people over 18”.
Black Adam was going to be brutal and bloody
Violence is usually normal in superhero movies, but “Black Adam” was going to be on another level.
According to Garcia and Flunn, the black-suited hero was going to commit numerous and brutal murders, something that can be compared to “Deadpool” (which has already confirmed his third film alongside Hugh Jackman).
One of the things he’s known for is his aggression and violence, and making a Black Adam movie that didn’t have that just wouldn’t have been authentic.
What was left in and out of “Black Adam”
So how did you manage to find the balance for the film to get a less strict rating?
“We had to do a lot of editing actually. There are some personal moments that we really love, but we had to let them go. We never compromised anything, we never had to cut a scene.”
Likewise, the producers clarified that an agreement had to be reached with the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).
Despite the changes, both García and Flunn stressed that there are still enough action scenes that maintain the essence of the character.
When does “Black Adam” premiere?
“Black Adam” premieres this Thursday, October 20 in theaters and will have a Superman cameo with Henry Cavill.
