There Japan Independent Games Aggregate (JIGA) announced the BitSummit X-Roads, new edition of the festival dedicated to independent games. The event will be held next 6 and 7 August at Miyako Messe in Kyoto and will be open to the public for the first time since 2019. As always, the first day will be exclusively dedicated to developers and software houses, while the second day also the general public will be able to participate.
The organization also announced that this year developers and publishers from the rest of the world will also be able to participate again. Obviously, all the regulations that the Government of Japan will impose to counter the COVID-19 pandemic that still afflicts the world will be followed for the duration of the event.
The event it will also be streamed to allow users from all over the world to participate and discover the news of the independent gaming industry. In addition, realities will be created that will allow players to connect with each other in order to create a real community linked to the event, thanks for example to a dedicated Discord channel.
