LONDON (Reuters) – Bitcoin traded below $60,000 on Tuesday for the first time since Nov. 1, after renewing a high last week, with the cryptocurrency ether also showing a relevant decline.
Bitcoin, which on the last 10th reached a new record of $69,000, fell 7.9% at the worst moment of this session, to $58,563, its lowest value in 19 days and a 15% low from the high.
Ether, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, hit a 19-day low at $4,106.14, dropping nearly 12% this Tuesday at the worst time.
At around 10:40 am EDT, bitcoin yielded 4.72%, at $60,606.59. Ether was losing 6.43%, at $4,268.86.
