On Friday, Union Minister Giriraj Singh (Giriraj Singh) supported the enforcement of law against Love Jihad in Bihar. Giriraj Singh claimed that this subject has become a cause of trouble in the states of the country. The BJP leader requested the Nitish Kumar government to enact a law on Love Jihad. Giriraj said that issues like love jihad and population control have nothing to do with communalism but are a matter of social harmony.
Giriraj Singh told reporters in Patna that Love Jihad should be seen as a problem not only among Hindus but also among all non-Muslims in all states of the country. He said that in Kerala where there is a large population of Christians, community members have expressed concern over this development. Giriraj, an MP from Begusarai, apparently pointed to these worships in the Syro-Malabar Church, remarking that Christian girls were being targeted and killed in the name of Love Jihad.
Love Jihad has to end from root: Giriraj
The Union Minister said that the problem of love jihad has to be eradicated and it would be good if a law is brought in Bihar to stop love jihad. He said that the state government should understand that stopping love jihad and population control is related to social harmony and not to promote communalism.
JDU said- ‘Our faith is in harmony.’
On Giriraj’s ‘Law on Love Jihad’, the JDU said – ‘Our faith is in harmony.’ JDU Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Singh said that our leader Nitish Kumar is a man who carries all religions and castes together. What decision a government is taking is their case. Our government has to decide on love jihad. Sanjay Singh said that Nitish Kumar has never done politics of pressure. He said that any proposal that breaks the society will not be accepted.
