The president of the United States called Putin a “war criminal” on Wednesday, words that the Kremlin has considered “unacceptable and inexcusable.”
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has described his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on Thursday as a “murderous dictator” and “pure thug”, a day after calling him a “war criminal” for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
At an event on the occasion of Saint Patrick’s Day, Biden criticized the fact that Putin “is waging an immoral war against the people of Ukraine”, but assured that the Russian president “is paying a high price for his aggression”.
Biden has also alluded to the call he has scheduled for this Friday with the president of China, Xi Jinping, and has joked that the president “remembers everything” he has said. “Jokes aside”, he continued, (Xi) “does not believe that democracy can be sustained in the 21st century”, as reported by the CNN television network.
