After the stop in Acapulco, Matteo underwent a resonance that excluded new tears. He is training at the Evert Academy in Boca Raton
A sigh of relief: the magnetic resonance that Matteo Berrettini underwent after the stop in Acapulco, was a harbinger of good news. No injury to the oblique abdominals that for over a year have forced him to periodically stop due to more or less serious problems. Nothing to do with the first tear, the one that stopped him on the eve of the round of 16 in Melbourne 2021 and forced him to stop for a couple of months. And not even with that of Turin, in November, when in tears he was forced to leave the field in the match against Zverev.
Already in training

Precautionary stop, therefore, for the Roman number 7 in the world (this week he was overtaken by Rublev, champion in Dubai), who, barring new hitches, will be regularly on the field for the next tournaments on American hard courts in Indian Wells (from 10 March in the Californian desert ) and Miami, Florida soon after. Berrettini, after Acapulco flew directly to the States, Florida, where his partner Ajla Tomljanovic also lives and trains.
In these days, Matteo has resumed training on the fields of the Evert Academy in Boca Raton, his “headquarters” when he is in the United States.
