The head of the Miteco accused the PP deputy of being a “liar, liar, liar with a scratched and cynical record”
The deputy of the PP Francisco Bernabé and the third vice president of the Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, staged an exchange of accusations this Tuesday in the plenary session of the Senate due to the management of the actions to restore the Mar Menor .
During the control session, Ribera defended the work carried out in ten specific lines of action and assured that “there has been no ecosystem” in the entire country that has received “so many resources so concentrated” on a problem in which, according to what he said, 98 percent of the powers “are not of the State.”
The minister added that all the work “must be done in the short, medium and long term” and, above all, “listening to people” and that, on a personal level, it represents a “unique and singular” project that has made her commit to being there every two or three months, “avoiding cynicism and lies”.
Thus, the minister accused the PP deputy – who addressed the question about the Government’s actions in the Mar Menor – of being a “liar, liar, liar with a scratched and cynical record.”
“I hope that the Government of Murcia finally decides to undertake some action to restore the Mar Menor”, he has appealed and has stated that he trusts that he trusts that the President of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will take the Mar Menor seriously .
environmental ‘holocaust’
Previously, the popular deputy described as “environmental holocaust” what happens every summer in the Mar Menor without the central government having done “anything”. In this sense, he considers that “the only reality” is that “the PSOE does not want to recover the Mar Menor”, but rather is trying to “take political advantage of the situation to harm the Popular Party” because the Community is the administration closer and therefore more exposed.
«You will want to sink us politically with the Mar Menor but you will never be able to stop the PP’s commitment to restore the ecosystem of the Mar Menor. We already know who will be in charge of the recovery of the Mar Menor, Mr. Núñez Feijóo », he promised.
The popular deputy made the third vice president ugly that the Government “has done nothing” despite the fact that in the plenary session of the Senate he asked her four times about this issue. Thus, he recalled that in the third of them, Ribera called him “cynical.” In any case, the Bernabé proposed to him to do “just like the central governments of the PP” with the disasters of the Prestige and the Aznalcollar mines, which declared the works to be urgent and allocated 1,200 million euros to mitigate damage and fix “the two problems in a very short time.
In this way, Bernabé accused the “highest environmental authority in Spain” of not assuming its responsibilities, when “300 million euros would be enough” to execute the zero discharge plan and fix “root” the nitrates in surface waters and underground.
For the deputy, Ribera’s word “has no value” and asked him not to do more than “mourn for the dead fish.” “Do your job preventing them from dying, because if not, you will pass as the gravedigger of the Mar Menor, the only Minister of the Environment who did not move a finger to save that jewel from ruin,” he sentenced.
