Russian coach Kurban Berdyev flew to Moscow and responded to the information about the appointment to the Russian national team. This is reported by “Championship.com”.
The source photographed the 68-year-old technician at the airport. At the same time, Berdyev said that he flew to the capital on personal matters, which had nothing to do with negotiations with the Russian Football Union (RFU).
The fact that the RFU is considering the option of returning Berdyev became known on July 15. It is assumed that the agreement with the specialist will be calculated before the end of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Stanislav Cherchesov left the post of head coach of the national team amid failure at Euro 2020. The Russian team failed to overcome the group stage of the tournament. Cherchesov has led the team since 2016.
Berdyev twice led Rubin to gold medals in the Russian championship. He was also recognized as the best coach in the country according to the RFU.
