Matchday 7
The French reappears with the champion almost a month later, while the Navarrese team will not be able to count on Chimy Ávila, their top scorer
After almost a month off due to the muscle injury suffered on September 6 on the first day of the Champions League, Karim Benzema reappears this Sunday against Osasuna, in a match in which Real Madrid will debut the new hybrid turf installed in the Bernabeu. Real Madrid’s return to the League after the national team break will coincide with the return of Benzema and the inauguration of a pitch, a mixture of natural and artificial grass, on which the defending champion hopes to continue his winning streak. While Madrid recovers its great star who will receive the Ballon d’Or on October 17, the day after the classic, Osasuna will not be able to count on his top scorer, Chimy Ávila, who has scored three of the seven goals he has scored due to suspension the Navarrese team in the competition.
“We are going to talk about the usual Karim again, which is spectacular,” Carlo Ancelotti predicted this Saturday, who only has the absences of Modric and Lucas Vázquez to receive a team that has not won for 18 years at the Bernabéu, although in the Last League, thanks to the lack of forcefulness of the madridista attack and their defensive order, they achieved a goalless draw at the white coliseum. Osasuna are a very hard-working team and have only lost two of the six games they have played, so Carlo Ancelotti’s team will have to be patient to break the visitors’ resistance. The Osasuna coach, however, is expecting “the same Real Madrid that is being seen this season and that has won all the games with different records.”
“Apart from playing well, these teams have the best goalkeeper and the best striker,” highlights Arrasate, who acknowledges that to hit the Bernabéu “it’s about being consistent in your area and lethal in the rival’s.” In this sense, although both Madrid and Osasuna have conceded very few goals, six and five, respectively, Vinicius, Benzema, Rodrygo and Valverde have so far scored 13 goals in the championship. In the rojillo team, however, Chimy Ávila and Aimar Oroz have scored almost all of Osasuna’s goals, and while the Argentine is a very important loss, the Navarrese, once again called up, has been out for two weeks due to injury ankle.
