The Bentley range is renewed in an electrified key. The British carmaker unveiled the Bentayga S and Bentayga Azure models in the new hybrid versions which will be introduced next year, both equipped with an engine V6 hybrid as a replacement for the 542hp 4.0-liter V8. A step that thus brings electrified models to represent 50% of the Bentley range: in this case the protagonist is a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine combined with a 134 HP electric motor and powered by an 18 kWh battery.
In terms of the powertrain, the system power is therefore of 456 hp, about 80 hp less than the previous V8, a specification that still allows both hybrid versions of the Bentayga to complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds and travel over 43 kilometers in 100% electric mode . We recall that Bentley aims to offer every model with at least one hybrid powertrain by 2025, the same year in which it will also launch its first fully electric model.
As for the other features of the two cars, Bentley has made it known that the chassis of the Azure is now 15% stiffer, which allows for more dynamic tuning of the electronic stability control system. Not only that: always on the Azure the work of the British brand has also focused on comfort, refinement and noise reduction during the driving phase, and in fact we are talking about a car from 4% to 26% quieter than its rivals. As for the S, on the other hand, the exclusive system of hybrid sports exhaust whose sound can be reproduced in the passenger compartment. The new hybrid variant also features Bentley’s Blackline specification, which adds shiny metal to several exterior elements in addition to black for the exterior mirrors, headlight bezels and radiator grille. A 22 ″ wheelset, distinctive rear spoiler and black tailpipes complete the overview.
