The Belarus 1 TV channel blurred the faces of the siloviki in a story about new appointments in the Belarusian KGB. Scene recording is available at website channel.
On October 18, President Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with representatives of the security department, at which new appointments in the structure of the committee were announced. More than ten KGB representatives attended the meeting. In the TV story, their faces were blurred.
The correspondent of the TV channel noted that “we cannot show faces and name names, although these people themselves do not like to shine – such a sphere as state security is definitely not about publicity”. The news on the channel’s website added that the names of these officials cannot be named “for obvious reasons.”
Lukashenko said at a meeting with the appointed security officials that the situation remains tense, and “the failed coup attempt did not change the enemy’s plans – the collective West continues to interfere in internal affairs, aiming at a change of power, and most dangerous – at the destruction of the independence of the state.”
Earlier, Lukashenka said that another attempt to make a revolution could be timed to coincide with the constitutional referendum, which is scheduled for late February. He said that now the West has launched a psychological war aimed at forming a negative image of power among the population of Belarus. These techniques, the president noted, are also aimed at civil servants.
