The general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has responded to the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, that the former leader of the purple formation Pablo Iglesias suffered “cruelest attacks” than the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, but that then the socialists looked “the other way.”
This was stated by Belarra in statements to the media at the beginning of a demonstration in solidarity with the Palestinian people held in Madrid, when asked about statements by Santos Cerdán in which he denounced that the Government is being victim of “a hunt” by the media and in “judicial headquarters”.
“I want to tell Mr. Santos Cerdán that, unfortunately, there were much more cruel attacks, an unprecedented judicial war against a legitimate vice president, Pablo Iglesias, and the PSOE, who were our government partners, looked away“, recalled the leader of Podemos.
Belarra has insisted that they have already warned the Government of the consequences of agreeing to renew the General Congress of the Judiciary (CGPJ) “with the right”, among which was “legitimize the judicial dirty war.” In his opinion, when you “hold his right hand,” he “holds your arm.”
“We have been saying it for months and Today the Socialist Party is experiencing it firsthand. I hope they learn the lesson and we can strengthen the progressive bloc so that it never happens again,” he concluded.
Asked about the accusations made by the alleged perpetrator of the ‘Koldo case’, the businessman Víctor de Aldama, against members of the Government and senior leaders of the PSOE, Belarra has refused to make statements and not “try to obtain political gain” as “Pedro Sánchez did at the time” with Podemos.
“(We) have been accused many times without evidence of very serious things and until this man (Víctor de Aldama)so to speak, present some evidence of these very serious accusations, because I am not going to make any assessment,” he added.
