KTM revolution
From the conclusion of the Italian Grand Prix to today, the MotoGP rider market has experienced repeated major coups made official by the main top teams, the latest of which saw the KTM as the absolute protagonist. In addition to the strategy adopted by the Austrian company, which will effectively field four official bikes without distinction between factory team and Tech-3 (which from next year will take the name of Red Bull KTM Tech-3, with the absence of the ‘GasGas’ brand ), the latter team welcomed Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales. While the rider from Rimini will end his experience in the official Ducati team at the end of the year, thus leaving room for the new signing Marc Marquez, the Spaniard will instead leave Aprilia, which has just presented its new entry Jorge Martin. KTM therefore does not intend to back down in any way in the fight with its direct opponents for the 2025 world championship, on the contrary.
The new chapter of Tech-3
To reiterate the importance of the project everything was ‘orange’ Nicolas Goyon, Team Manager of Tech-3 Racing: “We are happy to announce that Enea and Maverick will be with us next year when we return to KTM – he has declared – we can’t forget that our first MotoGP victories were achieved in orange! We are proud that these two talented riders have decided to ride our bikes. It shows that we have followed the right path and that our technology can fight at the forefront for the championship. We would like to thank Pierer Mobility AG for the quality of its support. Our collaboration has reached its highest level this year and I am sure it will continue to grow in the future. We would also like to thank Red Bull for its dedication to our project. We have a clear commitment to victory and that’s why Enea and Maverick decided to join the program.”
Two new drivers, one great honor
Decision and conviction. Two values of primary importance shared and underlined also by KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirerwho underlined the great effort made to relaunch the team among the major candidates for winning the title: “We are very happy to have brought both Enea and Maverick into our MotoGP project and to have given them the full support and backing of the factory to continue pursuing their goals and achieving their peak performance – he added – it’s clear that we are talking about two of the fastest riders in the world right now and It’s a compliment that they trust us and the first class operation that we created together with Red Bull KTM Tech3. The team label for 2025 says it all: it’s time to strengthen the KTM name again and we couldn’t think of a better way to bring this kind of value to the company than to have Enea and Maverick go full Red Bull orange. Now let’s move forward to the rest of 2024 and then look at this new beginning for next year.”
