Obsidian Entertainment, recently known for games like Grounded and The Outer Worlds, revealed that the study had been contacted by another important publisher of games, this before joining Microsoft. As part of a new interview, Feargus Urquhart, team leader, revealed the details about this.
In the own words of Urquhart:
“We were approached by another top publisher, and I was having lunch with one of the top executives from this publisher, and he said, ‘Did you ever consider getting bought? I said, ‘yeah, sure’ and what they told me lately was, ‘well, we’re currently having a lot of problems hiring people’ … “
Uruqhart explained that this publisher I wanted to acquire Obsidian to distribute the team among their own game, because they could not hire people. In the end, Obsidian He rejected the proposal, stating that the ideal arrangement was to fit “culturally” and be able to work with people with whom you can “sit down and have a beer.”
Currently, Obsidian is working on Grounded and The Outer Worlds 2, which hopefully will arrive sometime in 2022.
Editor’s note: Lately, Microsoft has been breaking the bank when it comes to school shopping. However, it seems that they have still had a bit of work figuring out exactly what to do with them. In the same way, the future of this company is quite promising and very good years are coming for users of Xbox.
