PSV dealt with sub-topper Vitesse on Saturday afternoon without many problems. Even before half time, the final score (2-0) was on the board, via beautiful goals from Ibrahim Sangaré and Armindo Bruma. They both scored after a swipe into the right corner, in which keeper Markus Schubert had no chance.

It was occasionally eye-catching what PSV showed in the first half. With flowing combinations and beautiful triangles, Roger Schmidt’s team put the pressure on Vitesse, which barely touched the ball and could barely keep the ball in the team. The latter was also due to (once again) a good performance by Sangaré. The Ivorian was in between everything and also took the balls away from a few corners.
At PSV there were important supporting roles for left back Mauro Júnior and central midfielder Érick Gutiérrez, who came into Schmidt’s team due to injuries. Mauro continued well for Sangaré’s goal and also steamed up well for PSV’s first goal. Striker Carlos Vinícius was the declarant for Bruma and put the ball down with his head ready to go. The attack leader fumbled and fumbled and sometimes lost balls in an incomprehensible way, but was also important as a divider in the front.
After the break, PSV was unable to maintain the high level of the ball, without often being endangered. Schmidt’s team failed to counter Vitesse to a larger deficit, with Bruma and Vinícius still having opportunities. Vitesse received little pressure on PSV, which saw keeper Joël Drommel save well in the final phase. Also in the beginning, the closing post had a good save after a bet by Nikolai Baden Frederiksen.
The victory puts PSV at the top of the Eredivisie. Ajax skips over the people of Eindhoven again with a victory on Sunday at a visit to RKC Waalwijk.
