The woman continued to blame external factors, stress, tiredness, instead of suspecting that the problem was elsewhere.
He didn’t expect it and anything could have been, in his imagination, except a bad disease, a tumor, often lethal and capable of slowly destroying anyone. We are talking about a young woman, Aurora, who told how her nightmare began with a chest discomfort. A nightmare that became testimony on social media.
At that time, young Aurora was particularly busy, with the move and a new job that had just arrived. Those little pains she thought were simply due to stress and tiredness. Something that we all think about immediately, especially if we are in a rather turbulent moment in life. However, the pain didn’t go away and, over time, it got worse and worse.
First it became a cough, then also fatigue and back pain. At that point, the woman went to the emergency room. Three months later, she was diagnosed with a lung cancer at the third stage. At that time the young woman was 28 years old and she had never smoked in her life. The contribution of three doctors was fundamental in reaching this conclusion, given that the first two had diagnosed a “simple” infection. Aurora tells us in a video on TikTok
The first symptom, two years ago, was chest pain […] It hurt really bad and I thought it was stress… or maybe a heart attack. I called my sister and we agreed that it was due to stress, as I had just gotten a new house and was about to start teaching at a new school. I mean, there were a lot of things going on at the same time.
The second symptom was the cough. Still in the story in the video on social media, the woman reveals how initially the cough was light, just a tingling in the throat, and how, as the weeks went by, she became more insistent. At a certain point, the backache. “I thought it was caused by the fact that I walked a lot at work and that maybe my shoes weren’t suitable and I had to buy new ones, or maybe it was the bed’s fault,” Aurora admits. But the woman continued to blame external factors, instead of suspecting that the problem lay elsewhere. The young woman continues the story, going further:
The fourth symptom was very intense. I went to work around 7, and by the time I left school around 3 in the afternoon, I was exhausted. The situation got worse to the point that, after a few days, I asked my husband to pick me up in the car, I got in and fell asleep on the window. I only woke up when I got home and continued to sleep.
Now Aurora is 31 years old and is in the recovery phase after an important treatment. Through his social accounts, he wants to raise awareness about prevention, about the topic in general and remember not to underestimate certain symptoms and not to confuse them with simple signs of stress.
