New rumors about Battlefield 2042 arrive.
The beta of Battlefield 2042 it wasn’t quite what many fans expected. There have been a lot of complaints about basic things like server issues and glitches and speculation about how old the beta actually was, but beyond that, many have criticized the overall feel of the game. The character movement, shooting, and level design looked different than in previous Battlefield games, and it turns out there might be a good reason for that.
The indiscretion would come from the insider Tom Henderson who would have spoken to multiple sources. According to Henderson, Battlefield 2042 actually started out as a game battle royale, with Apex Legends as a big inspiration, before transforming into a more traditional Battlefield experience.
While this is a rumor, there certainly seem to be a lot of telltale clues about the possible direction towards battle royale in the Battlefield 2042 beta. From the design of the various levels, to the open world and less focused on strategy, to the Call of Duty-style specialists. Warzone, actually all this leads to think of a game of that kind.
In other news, the theory that # Battlefield2042 started as a Battle Royale is true, although I’m not sure how far in development it was changed to a more “traditional” Battlefield.
The inspiration from CoD was there, but Apex was a BIG inspiration.

Tom Henderson in other tweets has also stated how the development of Battlefield 2042 is quite complicated, with several developers who seem to be contacting other companies for fear of layoffs once the game is released.
For now we know that Battlefield 2042 will arrive on November 19th for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and PS5.
