Like other companies, EA has released its information related to the most recent fiscal quarter. Although the numbers were positive for the company, with apex legends Y FIFA 22 being a success, there was a noticeable problem: Battlefield 2042. In addition to offering an explanation for the situation surrounding this title, EA’s CEO has revealed that this title failed to meet expectations.
Through a conference, Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, pointed out that Battlefield 2042 failed to meet sales expectations. Mainly, it has been mentioned that the challenges imposed by working from home, as well as the great ambition of this project, ended up harming the final result. This is what he commented on it:
“Battlefield 2042 was always an ambitious game, and our teams pushed to innovate in many dimensions, including large-scale and 128-player matches, new modes, dynamic new gameplay and more. Developing this game with our teams working from home for almost two years proved to be challenging. Through our testing and preparation processes, we believed that the experience was ready to be put into the hands of our players. We launch with strong stability; however, as more players experienced the full game, it became clear that there were unforeseen performance issues that we would need to address. Some of the design choices we made with the game also didn’t resonate with everyone in our community.”
Along with this, it was revealed that the first season of Battlefield 2042 It has been delayed, this to solve the problems that plague this title. Similarly, a report has indicated that this game could well end up becoming free-to-play.
Editor’s note:
It’s a shame that a long-awaited title just ended up being one of EA’s biggest mistakes in recent years. Although the company is able to recover financially, it seems that its image has been tarnished once again, and fans do not forget so easily.
