Sales of Battlefield 2042 are tinged with yellow.
It seems that Battlefield 2042 “you do more than Bertoldo”, shooting yourself in the foot all the time that soon led him into the videogame abyss, between empty servers, refunds and now, perhaps, even false sales data. Indeed, the first week of the DICE shooter seemed to have gone well, also making it one of the best sellers on PlayStation 5 in 2021.
This discovery comes from the reporter Tom Henderson, explaining the data published by Electronic Arts and DICE could be anything but true. In fact, it seems that in the list of sales there are refunds but also the 10-hour trial, granted to EA Play subscribers. Official statements to this effect are expected – which will not arrive – but if this were really the case, the Battlefield 2042 situation would be far more serious than expected.
I’ve also been told the 4.23M sales number for # Battlefield2042 that I reported for week 1 sales are in fact “Total Players cumulatively” – So people who got refunds and played via the 10 hours trial are included in this number. pic.twitter.com/bXvcqbPV0d

Season 1 expansions and the introduction of the new Exposure map are still planned, but given the trend, it seems really difficult to revive a title that at this point seems to have created an unbridgeable groove with the players.
