The movie “Batgirl” cost 90 million dollars and was already completely filmed. Despite this, Warner Bros Discovery decided to cancel it so as not to run the risk of failing at the box office because it did not have the best box office or critical forecasts.
The production, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, meant the filmmakers’ entry into the DC Extended Universe. However, those plans will not see the light of day, not even on the HBO Max streaming platform, much less leaked now that the footage has been removed.
Through TikTok, Bilall Fallah revealed that he tried to save the “Batgirl” footage, but it was too late: Warner Bros. Discovery had already removed everything: “I went to the server and everything was gone. We said ‘Damn… We didn’t even keep the scenes with Batman.’”
“The guys at Warner Bros. told us that it wasn’t a problem of talent or quality of the film. We were right in the middle of editing. They told us that the cancellation was a strategic change, a change in management in order to save some money, ”he explained about the reasons.
The filmmaker lamented the event as well as the thousands of fans who expected to see Barbara Gordon become the new protector of Gotham City. Now we are not likely to see the leaked scenes on the internet or any other media.
