The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, put under control in the central office the case of his father, who threatened to throw his 3-year-old son from the balcony in Irkutsk. On Wednesday, July 14, this was reported on website departments.
“Alexander Bastrykin put all initiated criminal cases and procedural checks under control in the central office of the department and instructed the leadership of the territorial investigative bodies to report on all the above facts,” the message says.
It is also reported that the investigating authorities are petitioning for the selection of a preventive measure against the man in the form of detention.
On Tuesday, a resident of Irkutsk climbed over the balcony railing and held his three-year-old son for several hours, threatening that he would throw the child off the 14th floor. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, he went for it because of problematic relationships in the family.
The man demanded a meeting with his wife and refused to return to the apartment, despite the persuasion of the police and residents of the house. In the end, the man returned the child to the balcony and climbed back on his own.
The Irkutsk resident was detained, a criminal case was opened against him on preparations for the murder of a young child. He faces 10 years in prison.
The child is currently at home with his mother.
