Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed to investigate the circumstances of the shelling of civilians leaving the city of Mariupol. This was announced on Sunday, March 6, in a message on site departments.
“The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia pointed out the need to promptly take all measures aimed at identifying persons involved in criminal activities to destroy the civilian population, collect and record evidence,” the text says.
It is also noted that investigators will check information about the impending attack by the Ukrainian military and nationalists on the Crimea and Donbass on March 8 this year.
In addition, Bastrykin instructed the investigators check the facts of the creation of biological weapons on the territory of Ukraine. According to the department, upon the fact of the check, the issue of initiating a criminal case will be resolved.
Earlier that day, it was reported that Ukrainian nationalists shot down a column of civilians who were leaving Mariupol through a humanitarian corridor. It was noted that the gum corridor was organized along the M-23 highway in the direction of Novoazovsk. The fire was opened by militants from the Azov National Battalion.
The representative of the people’s militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Eduard Basurin, said that Kyiv refused to guarantee the regime of silence in Mariupol and Volnovakha. According to him, the gum corridors have been operating since the morning, the fire in the place where they pass has been stopped, the authorities of the republic are doing everything possible to get residents out of these settlements.
Also on that day, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that Ukraine planned to launch an offensive operation in the Donbass and Crimea. According to DPR intelligence and the testimony of Ukrainian prisoners of war, the offensive was supposed to begin on March 8.
In addition, on this day, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the facts of an emergency cleansing by Kiev of traces of the military biological program being implemented in Ukraine, funded by the US Department of Defense, were revealed. He clarified that after the start of the Russian operation to protect civilians in Donbass, the Pentagon had serious concerns about disclosing information from secret biological experiments on the territory of Ukraine.
The situation in Donbass escalated on February 17. In the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, heavy shelling by Ukrainian security forces was reported, including from heavy weapons. The republics announced a general mobilization, the evacuation of civilians to the territory of Russia, and also asked to recognize their independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing their sovereignty.
On February 24, the President of Russia announced an operation to protect the civilian population in the Donbass. Its goal, in particular, is to protect the civilian population of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, the last two aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
On March 6, it became known that Ukraine could soon get its own nuclear weapons. As military expert Igor Nikulin told Izvestiya, Ukraine still has Soviet groundwork in science, so it is easier for it to create nuclear weapons than Iran or North Korea. In this regard, the Russian operation in the Donbass, the expert believes, turned out to be very timely.
