The Utah Jazz lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers by a crushing score of 99–122.
Basketball in the NBA Lauri Markkanen had to humble himself to his home team last season when the Utah Jazz lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-99 away from home.
Despite the loss, Markkanen was the game’s top scorer with 24 points. He grabbed six rebounds and made three of six three-pointers.
The success percentage of game situation throws was 58.3. Seven out of ten free throws were sunk.
Played for the Jazz last season Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points in his first game against his former club.
This was the fourth straight win for the Cavaliers. At the same time, the team improved its previous NBA record for home games, of which it has now won 15/17 this season, says ESPN.
Playing the league’s best defense, Cleveland torpedoed the Jazz’s Shooting Accuracy to a season-low 39.1 percent success rate.
The match was largely decided already in the opening half, which Cleveland won 62–44. Markkanen scored exactly half of Utah’s points in the opening half, but didn’t get much support from his teammates.
Utah’s former star player Mitchell moved from the Jazz to the Cavaliers at the end of the summer, and Markkanen, Collin Sexton mixed Ochai Agbaji to the other way. In addition, the Jazz received three first-round draft picks and two draft picks from the Cavaliers.
Jazz is in ninth place in the NBA’s Western Conference. The team’s balance is 17 wins and 16 losses.
Markkanen said after the match that it was nice to return to the old home floor and see the Cavaliers club employees and former teammates.
“I heard the fans shouting my name and being happy to see me. It was a fun game, but hopefully the result will be better next time,” Markkanen said in a video posted on the NBA’s website.
