Despite the many closures that Japan had to face in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, also due to the total lack of tourism, there are those who want to try to restart on the right foot, now that the borders are slowly reopening to the foreigners. This is the case with BANDAI NAMCOwhich has recently announced the opening of a chain of megastores dedicated to fans of anime, manga, videogames, tokusatsu, etc.
The company has in fact recently shown the plans for the first two Bandai Namco Cross Storewith the first (left image) that will arise as a whole World Porters from Yokohamaand the second (right image) at the shopping center Canal City from Fukuoka.
From the first glance at the projects, it seems that these cover an entire floor of the respective buildings, and will consist of approximately a dozen different shops and attractions, such as:
- Tamashii Nations in Cross Store Entry Models – Dedicated to the Robot Damashii, SH Figuarts, Figuarts Zero, and Figuarts-mini lines.
- Ichiban Kuji Shop – With an assortment of rotating lotteries.
- Gashapon Bandai Official Shop – Full of gashapon dispensers for all tastes.
- Select Store counters – First physical store of the BANDAI NAMCO brand dedicated to adult clothing.
- Bandai Spirits Hobby Shop – Another first physical store dedicated to the BANDAI NAMCO brand, which focuses on series model kits not belonging to the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
- Bandai Namco Cross Store One Piece Card Game Official Shop – The first store dedicated to the ONE PIECE collectible card game, where lessons for beginners and competitions will also be held.
- Banpreya – Store dedicated to UFO Catchers, with up to 100 different prizes.
- Bandai Sofvi Station (Yokohama only) – Store dedicated to a variety of soft vinyl (“sofvi”) figures and products.
- Bikkura Tamago Official Shop – Shop specializing in products from the Bikkura Tamago line, or spherical-shaped bath salts that contain toys.
- Bandai Candy Official Shop – Specialized in confectionery with surprises.
- Sun Star Stationery Store – Stationery with objects dedicated to various characters.
Furthermore, each Bandai Namco Cross Store will also feature a game room, a Toy Stor CapsulesAnd (with 2,200 distributors in Yokohama and 1,500 in Fukuoka), and spaces for VR activities, collaborations for cafes or foods, and other events.
The Bandai Namco Cross Store from Yokohama will officially open on July 7while that of Fukuoka the July 16.
