Shadowheart is a devotee of Shar, the deity of darkness and mysteries, who must bring a very powerful relic to her sect in Baldur's Gate, but is in danger from an unusual magic that flows within her. Her religion is a key element of her storyline in the game, and the player can influence her towards or away from her faith. Shadowheart is one of the many companions that can be recruited during the adventure, as well as one of the Origin characters that the player can decide to play without creating a new character from scratch.
