FC Barcelona defender Balde leaves the field after his injury.
Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde left the field on a stretcher 26 minutes into the match between the Barça team and UD Las Palmas this Saturday at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, after a collision with rival striker Sandro Ramírez.
In a fortuitous action, the visiting team’s attacker hit the Barcelona defender’s neck with his shoulder when he was trying to protect the ball, and the local player was left lying on the grass with obvious signs of pain and difficulty breathing.
After being treated by the club’s medical services for several minutes, Balde had to leave the field on a stretcher and was replaced by full-back Gerard Martín.
