The bailiffs plan to collect 482 billion rubles from the malicious defaulters on loans, or a third more than in 2020, the FSSP told Izvestia. Over the five months of this year, 3.7 million cases were initiated on debt collection from individuals in favor of banks.
At the beginning of summer, the largest number of malicious defaulters was registered in the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions, the service noted.
Izvestia asked the largest banks about the growth of debt repayment on loans to individuals through the courts. According to Elena Dorofeeva, Deputy Director of the Rosbank Overdue Debt Department, the number of contracts for which amounts will be collected by force increased by about 15% in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.
The coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions imposed have affected the financial well-being of Russians and their ability to service loan obligations on time, said Elman Mehdiyev, President of the SRO NAPKA. According to him, more than 6 million citizens are experiencing problems with payments.
According to the latest data from the Central Bank, as of June 1, the volume of overdue debt on loans to individuals reached 992 billion rubles, or 134 billion more than a year ago.
