The SUV range of the Chinese group BAIC could soon expand with the debut of the new one BJ60, which will sit in size between the BJ40 and the BJ80. We are talking about an off-road performance-oriented crossover, which was recently anticipated by BAIC through a series of official teaser images: the similarities with the SUVs of the Jeep brand they seem to be especially noticeable at the front of the model, which features a large grille incorporating LED daytime running lights.
More generally, we can say the new BAIC BJ60 seems to boast a square and robust shape, embellished with pronounced wheel arches and a set of large tires. At the rear there will be a spare wheel installed on the tailgate, while elsewhere we will find LED lights and a distinctive bumper. From a mechanical point of view, however, the new SUV of the Chinese group will have an independent front and rear suspension system, and will be sold exclusively with all-wheel drive. How many to the motor offerFinally, there are still many unknowns: according to the latest rumors reported by Carscoops, the range will include two 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines combined with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, one of which will include mild technology. 48-volt hybrid, and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The model’s debut date has not yet been announced.
