Bad weather lashes Italy, particularly affecting some regions. A strong storm hit Naples and throughout the central-northern part of Campania. Flooding and inconvenience to road traffic in many parts of the city, as in the case of the Riviera di Chiaia, where some stretches of road were completely flooded. An orange level weather alert is in force on Naples, the islands, the Sorrento Peninsula and the province of Caserta and thunderstorms are also expected in the afternoon.
Effects also on public transport: the regional company Eav has communicated the stop to the circulation of trains on the Circumflegrea line between the stations of Licola and Quarto, in the Neapolitan area, and the suspension of the service of the Faito cableway, which connects the city of Castellammare di Stabia to Monte Faito, in both cases for reasons related to bad weather.
The Civil Protection has issued the notice of adverse weather conditions also on Lazio. From tomorrow onwards, from isolated to scattered precipitations, also of a reverse or thunderstorm character, on the eastern and southern sectors of the region. Yellow alert for thunderstorms on the Medio Tevere Basin, the Rieti Apennines, Aniene, the Liri Basin and Southern Coastal Basins; yellow alert for hydraulic criticality on the Liri Basin and Southern Coastal Basins.
The Civil Protection of the Calabria has issued a yellow alert message for the whole Region for tomorrow, Monday 26 September. Due to a disturbance, in fact, according to a note from the Calabria Region, rainfall is expected distributed over a large period of time.
