The intervention involves the reconstruction of a collapsed retaining wall near the bank of the Letimbro stream in the locality of Cimavalle. The total cost of the intervention is 560 thousand euros
Savona – The construction site will start on Monday in via Cimavalle, in the locality of Santuario di Savona to restore the two-way traffic along the SP12 Savona Altare, affected by the bad weather that has hit Liguria, and in particular the Savona area and the hinterland of Genoa, last October 4th.
Due to the flood, a part of the carriageway collapsed where it is now possible to transit thanks to the alternating direction with a traffic light.
The intervention provides the reconstruction of the collapsed retaining wall near the Letimbro river bank in the Cimavalle area, in the municipality of Savona: in this way it will be possible to guarantee the restoration of transit in both directions.
The total cost of the intervention is 560 thousand euros of which 532 thousand financed by the region with the Regional Strategic Fund and 28 thousand by the Province of Savona. “We are particularly proud, and we thank all the civil protection technicians of the Region and the Province, because less than 4 days after our first inspection, the site is open and we are already working on a solution for the safety of this road – said the governor Giovanni Toti and the councilor for civil protection Giacomo Giampedrone – We believe that this is further proof and a demonstration of the ability to react and efficiency of our system: by the end of the year this structural intervention, which includes piling, will be completely completed “.
“The works are structural – added the regional councilor for Civil Protection Giacomo Giampedrone – and the bank is consolidated, the piling is built to make the roadway above the road and the carriageway is restored to the same width. With a capacity to resist similar phenomena” .
The intervention on the provincial road 12 is part of a complex of works for which Liguria Region has allocated a total of 1 million and 900 thousand euros coming precisely from the Regional Strategic Fund and which also concern provincial road 38 “Mallare – Bormida – Osiglia” also in the Province of Savona and provincial roads 41 of Tiglieto and 76 dell’Olbicella in the metropolitan city of Genoa.
