He attacks the leftist groups for “making jokes of any statement” and accuses the PSOE of promoting “ruin”
Far from disavowing it, Isabel Díaz Ayuso came out this Thursday in defense of her government spokesman, Enrique Ossorio, after questioning the Cáritas report that calculates a million and a half people at risk of social exclusion in the Community of Madrid. Faced with criticism from the entire left, the regional president has counterattacked and pointed to the “ruin” that Pedro Sánchez’s Executive would be generating.
The controversy originated on Wednesday, when Ossorio was asked at a press conference about the aforementioned report. “They tell him that there are three million poor people in Madrid – he doubled the original figure – well… where are they?” He asked himself while he made the gesture of looking for them with his head looking down. The Minister of Education also stated that the numbers do not correspond to what is seen “on the street” because Madrid “is a rich region.”
The substance and the form of these statements generated the anger of the groups on the left, who took advantage of the full control this Thursday in search of explanations. The spokespersons for Más Madrid, PSOE and United We Can have exerted joint pressure. “Apologize here and now,” claimed the socialist Juan Lobato. The purple coalition has even registered a request for disapproval “for disrespectfully questioning” the document.
Ayuso has lamented that the opposition groups dedicate themselves to “making jokes of any statement” by him or his advisers. “Really, aren’t you ashamed to give lessons to a Community that is the only one that is giving solutions?” He snapped at his rivals. The PSOE, in particular, has been blamed for its management in the central government: «We cannot face the energy bill, the supply problem and the difficulties in paying for the metro and it still has the nerve to say ‘open bar, We are going to give away the metro’”, he has censored.
In her opinion, “the feminists on the left” judge her but not for what she manages. For this reason, she has asked the socialists to judge her for what she makes of her and not stand behind a purple banner “from time to time” to “teach women lessons.” “Judge me and demand how I manage, if you have any doubts, go to any court, but do not poison this Chamber again and again,” she launched.
