I.Taly’s EM hero Gianluigi Donnarumma moves to top French club Paris St. Germain. The goalkeeper, who saved the decisive penalty in the final against England at Wembley and was voted best player of the tournament, has been awarded a five-year contract with PSG. His contract with AC Milan expired on June 30th.
“I am very happy to be part of this big club,” said the 22-year-old, the youngest goalkeeper in Italian international history. “I feel ready for the new challenge and want to continue growing here. I want to win everything that is possible with PSG. “
Keylor Navas has been number one at PSG for the past few years. The 34-year-old only extended his contract to 2024 in April. Donnarumma was also in discussion with the Italian record champions Juventus Turin as the successor to the club idol Gianluigi Buffon.
PSG, already richly blessed with superstars like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, are thus continuing their shopping spree on the transfer market. The Parisians had already signed the Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos, the Dutch national team captain Georginio Wijnaldum (most recently Liverpool FC) and the former Dortmund Achraf Hakimi (Inter Milan). PSG only had to pay a transfer fee of 60 million euros for Hakimi, the other players moved free of charge.
