The Torrelavega City Council has awarded the drafting of the remodeling project for Avenida del Besaya by amount of 12,081 euros and an execution period of four months. This was announced by the Councilor for Works, José Luis Urraca, who explained that the project foresees the future execution of the work in two independent phases: one from the entrance of the Covadonga neighborhood to Villalonso and another from it to the fountain roundabout.
This initiative responds to the need for revitalize one of the city’s main roadswhose current state requires interventions to improve both its functionality and its aesthetics and safety. It is a main artery for the populous Covadonga neighborhood that has not been acted upon for a long time and requires extensive renovation, the City Council has indicated.
PROJECT
The project contemplates the complete renovation of the infrastructure, covering water networks, sanitation, lighting and other services essential because it aims not only to update the avenue from a visual point of view, but also to optimize it for more efficient and safe use by citizens.
The refurbishment will be designed to ensure sustainability and compliance with current technical standards. “It is a crucial step to improve the quality of urban life and continue strengthening the infrastructure of the Covadonga neighborhood,” Urraca stressed. The action will complement the renovation that has been carried out in the Plaza Covadonga area, where there are some independent interventions that will be addressed in the coming months.
