Russian automaker AvtoVAZ has temporarily suspended production of the Lada Granta model. This was reported by the Autograd News public on the VKontakte social network.
It is noted that the suspension of production at AvtoVAZ is due to the lack of some components, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
The community argues that when missing components arrive, production will resume.
Earlier it was reported that Lada Granta became the best-selling Lada car in March. The Russians purchased 12,686 of these machines. Lada Vesta sales amounted to 8779 cars. The third place is taken by Lada Largus with a result of 3888 vehicles (cumulative results of sales of passenger station wagons and vans).
In total, 33,779 Lada passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia in March 2021, which is 3% more than in the same month of 2020.
On March 24, it became known that AvtoVAZ will begin production of the Lada Granta model with a new engine in May 2021.
We are talking about a 1.6-liter petrol engine with a capacity of 90 hp, which will replace an 87-hp unit of the same volume.
