Microsoft is organizing many new features for its gaming summer, between the official Xbox Showcase and the presence at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, which has now permanently replaced E3. According to a recent rumor, collected by the usual Tom Henderson and probably born from invitations sent to the press, the Redmond house is organizing meetings with sector journalists to show some playable demos Of Avowed And Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle.
Considering Henderson’s track record, we can take the news practically for certain, even if there is no official confirmation. Always take him with due caution, but not too much.
A summer dedicated to Xbox?
According to rumors, both games are expected to be shown at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th, with previews going online on June 10th instead. Avowed and Indiana Jones and The Ancient Circle are both expected to be released during 2024. It is assumed that the official release dates of both. What in particular will be shown is a mystery for now, although we confess to at least expect trailers, as well as more gameplay to savor. After all, they should be practically completed and in the process of being refined, considering that there is little left to play them.
In reality we have already had the opportunity to observe the two games at Developer Direct of January, so we know with some precision what could await us. That said, the Xbox Showcase will also give space to other games, probably including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, just announced by Activision Blizzard, which in any case will have a dedicated event immediately after the show. Other rumors about the potential contents of the event will probably emerge in the next few days. We’ll see what awaits us. Games such as Fable by Playground Games or Clockwork Revolution by inXile could return, other games such as Starfield, for which there should be an expansion, or State of Decay 3, about which nothing certain has been known for years, could be shown.
Just in recent days Xbox has published exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X/S Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, one of the most anticipated titles for the platform. In short, 2024 seems to be a great year for Xbox and PC owners, net of the closure of some studios, such as Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin.
