Avocado is not only a fruit that provides a large number of health benefits, but it is also the perfect ingredient that many dishes needed to achieve a perfect flavor. Its soft and buttery texture makes it a perfect ingredient as a substitute for cream and butter, it can even be used in pastries.
The simple recipes to which you can add avocado
1. Salad. Avocado can be added to any type of salad creating a special flavor. Avocado can become the essential ingredient in your salads. For example, a very nutritious and simple dish can be a salad with lettuce, tomato, onion and avocado. With so few ingredients you can achieve a rich dish full of nutrients.
2. Toast with avocado. If you want to add fruit to your breakfast you can make some delicious toast with avocado. You will only need bread, avocado and cheese. Cut in half and extract the pulp from the avocado. Then spread the avocado on the toast and sprinkle cheese on top, you will have a breakfast of ten. You can also try adding other types of food, in this case the avocado acts as a substitute for butter.
3. Salmon and avocado omelette. A French omelette is always a quick and tasty solution for a light dinner. In this case the tortilla will get a little more flavor. You will only need 2 or 3 eggs, an avocado, smoked salmon (2 or 3 small slices) and spreadable cheese.
Put the eggs in a bowl or on a plate, add a pinch of salt and beat well with a fork. When the pan is hot, add the avocado that you will have cut into slices previously, let it cook until the egg sets completely. Then remove from the heat, spread the cheese on the tortilla, place the salmon slices and roll up the tortilla. Quick, easy and juicy.
4. Noodles with avocado cream. You can also add avocado to more elaborate dishes such as pasta, fish or meat. One of the easiest ways is to add avocado to pasta. For this dish you will need an avocado, a courgette, noodles, lemon juice, a chive, 100 g of Manchego cheese, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Peel the avocado, cut it in half and remove the bone. Scoop out the pulp with a spoon and put it in the blender jar. Add the juice of half a lemon, a pinch of paprika, salt and pepper and blend until smooth. Next, wash the courgette, dry it, remove the ends and cut it into very thin slices. Wash and chop the chives stems.
Then heat the oil in a pan and fry the zucchini for 3 or 4 minutes. Season and reserve. Bring plenty of salted water to a boil in a pot. Add the noodles, cook them for the time indicated on the package and drain them, reserving 2 tablespoons of the cooking water. Dilute the saffron in it, add it to the avocado cream and stir well. Finely grate the cheese. Put the noodles in a bowl and add the zucchini. Spread the avocado cream on top and stir gently. Sprinkle with grated cheese and chives and serve. This is a more elaborate dish that you can get with avocado.
5. Avocado Plumcake. Desserts can also be made with this fruit. To make this recipe you will need 2 ripe avocados, a lemon, 5 eggs, 250 ml of agave syrup, 140 g of olive oil, 150 g of buckwheat flour, 150 g of rice flour, 50 g of cornstarch, 18 g of baking powder.
Wash the lemon, dry and grate the skin. Then, squeeze half a lemon and filter the resulting juice. Cut the avocados in half and extract the pulp. Mash the avocado with the lemon juice and reserve in a bowl. Preheat the oven to 180 °. Crack the eggs, separating the whites from the yolks. Place the whites in a bowl and with the help of some rods, mount until stiff. On the other hand, beat the yolks with the agave syrup in another bowl. You can do this step with manual rods. Then, add 15 grams of oil little by little until it is well integrated with the rest of the mixture.
Add the avocado puree and lemon zest and stir. Add the two types of flour sifted with the cornstarch and yeast, and continue mixing until you get a smooth dough. Lastly, incorporate the already whipped whites that you had reserved, making enveloping movements from top to bottom so that they do not lose volume. Brush the bottom and sides of a mold with the rest of the oil to make the plumcake. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven, and when it is warm you can transfer it to a serving dish. You can sprinkle the plumcake with agave syrup, cut some pistachios in half and distribute them on top to decorate.
