Mexico.- On March 5, 2022, Mexico suffered a tragic episode in Liga MX soccer, after an alleged brawl between bars got out of control, leaving dozens of people injured at the Corregidora stadium, during the match of White Roosters vs. Atlas.
Two weeks after the events, sports journalists, Alberto Lati and David Faitelson They shared their position and pointed out that this unfortunate event could have been avoided, but nothing was done to prevent it.
In a conversation with the clown Brozo, the sports chroniclers also exposed some of the situations that can be analyzed around what happened, this from the perspective that their vast years of experience allow them.
In this way, Alberto Latti mentioned that the first impression he had when seeing the images of the campaign was of “disgust”as he recalled that the vision of Mexican soccer has changed since the 1980s, when these events were “festive”, and now they have ceased to be due to the influence of the brave bars.
Supporting Lati’s words, David Faitelson acknowledged that his first impression was one of sadness, as he remembers that as a child when he went to the stadium to watch the games, “it was a Sunday party”, as one could appreciate the coexistence of families who only seek have fun.
“There were entire families having fun… one with a uniform the other with another uniform. We could have that condition, of understanding that soccer was a party, a hobby… Soccer is something playful, it’s something trivial, nothing happens, a goal falls or a goal falls”Faitelson said.
Fitelson explained that what happened in Corregidora was not a fight in the stands, since they were not only blows between fans, but also “there was something else”, that has created doubt in dealing with whether this violence is part of what happens in a large part of Mexico, in addition, it casts doubt on whether what the authorities report is really what happened, because there is much evidence that suggests the opposite .
In this sense, Alberto Lati mentioned that from this fact he was able to identify two things, one that is common to “violent people who hit each other in a stadium”, a situation that over the years has transformed from those who compete to those who are going to see the show.
Lati explained that although in previous episodes these fights end when the authority intervenes, what happened in Querétaro happened while the authority tried to stop the campaign. What has exposed the nullity of reaction protocols. He well he even pointed out that, if there was time even for “take pictures“, why not to prevent this situation.

He considered that although violence exists outside and therefore reaches the stadiums or any other venue. The important thing is to highlight that the soccer authorities could have done something before, since he indicated that they continue to act in reaction and not prevention.
