Austria’s former Chancellor Wolfgang Bowl (ÖVP) ended his work on the supervisory board of the Russian oil company Lukoil because of the Ukraine war.
Vienna – «For me, who has always advocated constructive relations between the EU and Russia, the military attack on Ukraine, the brutal one combat operations and bombardments of the civilian population crossed the red line,” the head of government, who was in office from 2000 to 2007, told the Austrian news agency APA on Friday. In the past few days, he had worked intensively on a declaration by Lukoil to end the war, said the former conservative politician. The Social Democrat ex-Chancellor Christian Kern had already resigned from the supervisory board of the Russian state railways RZD on the first day of the Russian invasion. (dpa)
