Marvel’s Spider-Man For PS4 and PS5, he not only managed to encapsulate the essence of this character through gameplay, but also offered an emotional story that was able to demonstrate the decisions that Peter has to face in his career as a hero. In this way, the character of Aunt May plays a fundamental role in this section, but originally this was not going to be the case.
In a recent interview, Marvel comic writer Dan Slott revealed that Insomniac Games originally intended to only add this character via audio conversations, as creating an elderly character with wrinkles involved more work for the studio. Fortunately, Slott managed to convince them to add Aunt May physically. This was what he commented on the matter:
“According to them, old characters, wrinkled characters, to make them look good and realistic, it takes a lot of work. Same as what they could use to create five other characters. “
Fortunately, Slott won this discussion by commenting that:
“Marisa Tomei [que interpreta a la tía May en las películas de MCU] it is not that old. Aunt May doesn’t have to be very wrinkled; she can be less wrinkled ”.
If they already played Marvel’s Spider-Man, they will know that Aunt May is part of one of the most heartbreaking moments in the game, and this would not have been possible without some kind of physical presence in the story. On related topics, Tom Hardy keeps hinting at a collaboration with Spider-Man. Similarly, No way home it could be the end of Tom Holland in this role.
Editor’s Note:
It is good to see that the writers manage to defend their work, and in this case the result was positive. The endgame wouldn’t have been the same without Aunt May. Hopefully this has given Insomniac Games a confidence to create more older characters.
