The new generation of Audi R8 should debut in 2023. The first rumors on what to expect from the third generation of the four-ring sports car have begun to circulate, and suggest that it will be a very different car from the current generation of the R8. Certainly from an aesthetic point of view, but above all from an engine point of view. A revolution dictated by a back to the origins, because like the first generation of Audi R8 launched in 2006 also the next could be available with a V8 engine.
In fact, we recall that the sports car of the car manufacturer with the four rings was launched for the first time fifteen years ago with a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8. A more powerful variant with a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 was introduced a couple of years later, a solution that from 2015 with the debut of the second generation remained the only one available to customers, with the engine V8 which was abandoned. Now, however, the latter option could return to the limelight: according to what reported by Auto Bild, the next generation of Audi R8 will be marketed with a hybrid version V8, with a power of about 700 hp. Not even one is to be excluded 100% electric variant of the sports car, which Audi would like to place at the top of the range, unlike what has been done with the current R8 e-tron which with its 456 HP sold for around 1 million euros has convinced fewer than 100 customers. More power then, but also more affordable.
