Audi’s fourth “Sphere” will be called Active. The announcement was made by the car manufacturer of the four rings, which after presenting the Grandsphere, the Urbansphere and the Skysphere has released a first teaser image of its next next generation crossover concept, which will feature a 100% electric engine and a ability to level four autonomous driving. Audi has made it known that the new model will guarantee level performance both on and off-road, to allow drivers to be at ease in every situation.
According to the latest rumors reported by Autocar, the new Activesphere will probably be based on the EPP platform, the same that hosts the realization of the Urbansphere and the Grandsphere. Among the outstanding features of the new Audi electric crossover concept we find a raised suspension and a set of large wheels, two elements that contrast with the slender bodywork and the narrow headlights with a sharp design but which confirm the off-road approach of the model. The car manufacturer with the four rings has not commented on the technical specifications, but it is a fact that exactly like the other three “Sphere”, the Active will also boast first-level technological features: the debut of the electric crossover concept expected at the beginning 2023 will dispel any doubts regarding this aspect as well.
It is also not clear how the new Activesphere will be equipped from an engine and engine point of view battery. In recent months, Audi has in fact previewed a handful of different batteries for the other three concept cars: for example the Urbansphere, which will be the largest car of the brand, is equipped with a 120 kWh battery with a range of up to 750 km and with the possibility of recharging at speeds up to 270 kW, while the Skysphere is equipped with a battery with a capacity greater than 80 kWh, which will guarantee a range of about 500 km. We will see what Audi will choose for the Activesphere.
