It will debut in 2024, but road tests have already started. Let’s talk about the new generation of Audi A4: A prototype of the sedan of the house of the four rings was pinched wearing a heavy camouflage livery. Despite this, some particular design elements of the car, immortalized in the family variant Avant, were visible: the silhouette seems to be very similar to that of the current model, albeit with a sportier meaning, which makes the new A4 Avanti look like a small RS6.
Aesthetically speaking, the front features a pair of more aggressive-looking headlights, a larger single-frame grille and distinctive vertical air intakes on the bumper. The mudguards (also at the rear) give a more toned look to the design of the whole car, and combine perfectly with the black five-spoke wheels. The taillights appear to be quite stylish, but Audi is unlikely to bring these same lighting units back to the production version of the upcoming A4 Avant. As for the engine offer, the car manufacturer with the four rings has confirmed that it will offer a much more electrified range on the next generation of the family, with hybrid plug-in and mild-hybrid versions. However, there will be no shortage of thermal solutions: according to the latest rumors, an updated version of the 2.0 TFSI turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with higher power will be offered, together with an updated 2.0 TDI diesel.
“Electrified” innovations are also planned for the top-of-the-range RS4 variant. There will also be one 100% electric version of the next Audi A4? According to Carscoops, there is no doubt: the automaker with the four rings will launch it, although it is not clear whether it will be built on an updated version of the MLB platform, the same as the basis of the e-tron and e-tron Sportback models, or will switch to the more modern PPE architecture, on which Audi assembles the electric Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron. The latter scenario, however, seems the most plausible one.
