After a tournament with some ups and downs and some doubts because of what was shown in the first days of the competition, Fernando Samayoa’s team managed to get their qualification to the league for the sixth consecutive tournament. At the beginning of Grita México A2021, it was expected that the Academy team would be the protagonist as it had been doing in previous tournaments.
While it is true the first days were not the best for the rojinegras with the passing of the days they were stepping stronger and getting important points to achieve their classification and fight again for the league title.
The ticket to the big party came after getting a comeback against America by three to two with goals from Adriana Iturbide, Verónica Pérez and Alison González from Atlas; Espinoza and Saldivar did their thing with the cream blue outfit.
Atlas will play again at home against Pachuca on Matchday 16 and will close the visit to Puebla on Matchday 17, trying to get stronger and get important points to improve their classification, since they currently have 30 points like Santos and Chivas, but on goal difference they are in fifth position.
