Atlantia, revenues grow and debt falls
Atlantia it closed the first quarter with operating revenues of € 1.491 billionup 13% compared to 1.319 billion in the same period last year. Ebitda is equal to 917 million eurosup 16% compared to 792 million in the first quarter of 2021. Profit it stood at 344 million compared to the red of 97 of the first quarter of 2021. Net financial debt at March 31, 2022 was € 28.7 billion, down by € 1.3 billion compared to the end of 2021 (-4%).
Revenues from motorway tolls amounted to 1,184 million euros with an increase of 118 million euros compared to the first quarter of 2021, mainly attributable the increase in traffic at the motorway concessionaires of the Abertis group (+174 million euros) e of other foreign motorway activities (+31 million euros), net of the lower revenues due to the expiry in August 2021 of the concessions of Acesa And Invicat (107 million euros). Revenues for aeronautical services amounted to 85 million euros with a increase of 53 million euros related to the recovery of the traffic of Airports of Rome and Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur compared to the substantial inoperability of the first quarter of 2021 determined by the mobility restrictions for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Airports of Rome, passengers are growing but still far from 2019

They are confirmed investments of approximately 1.5 billion euros. This was announced by the Atlantia group.
Into account traffic data of the first four months of 2022 (+ 3% for the motorway sector and -46% for the airport sector compared to 2019 values) and assuming that in the rest of the year there are no significant restrictive measures to mobility, nor a worsening of the direct and indirect effects on the economy in general of the conflict started in Ukraine at the end of February 2022, the note reads, “the estimate of motorway traffic volumes in growth of about 4% and airport traffic down by about 40% again compared to 2019“.
